I had a feeling...31 weeks

Today I went in for a routine doctor's appointment. I had a weird feeling because in the past week I have been getting really dizzy and my fingers in my right hand have gone totally numb. The nurse took my blood pressure, which has been perfect, and I could see by the look on her face it wasn't good. I said, "it's not good, is it?" and she said "no." It was 135/95. I had no idea anything about blood pressure so as soon as I went into my room to wait for the doctor I quickly called my mom. She confirmed the bottom number was high. Apparently, the bottom number is what the doctors are concerned with when it comes to preeclampsia. Then, a doctor I have never met before comes in my room. She talks with me about 20 minutes about her concerns. She said it is very common with multiples for women to develop preeclampsia at this stage. I was told to take my blood pressure several times a day for the next week and if the bottom number ever got to 100 or higher to go straight to the hospital where I would need to get steroid shots to develop the babies lungs and get on blood pressure medication. She said she hoped I could make it to 34 weeks. She also sent me for lots of blood work and a 24 hour collection sample. Yuck! I was told to take it easy, which I have been since the whole family is in Hawaii. It was a whirlwind conversation. My pregnancy has been perfect this far and even though I wasn't feeling that great, I wasn't expecting this.

Before I left they took my blood pressure again and it was 132/85, way better, so who knows? Guess the blood work and urine will give more information. I hope so much this is just random and these babies stay in until 37 weeks.

As much as I want to see them, I don't want to in the NICU hooked up to a million monitors. It is amazing to know if they were born now they would live.
