Hockey
Dear Grayson,
In the last year you have become obsessed with hockey. You LOVE the Flames. No, seriously...you love all things hockey. Last night you and your Dad went to the Flames game at the Saddledome. Dad has season tickets and takes you as his first pick all the time. I stay home and wait for you to get the full report. Score, plays, penalties, goals...etc. You know almost every Flame player name AND number. You especially love the Flames goalie Mikka KIprusoff and forward Jarome Iginla. Every game you pick one of your 3 Flames' jerseys, tattoo your face with the Flames emblem and mohawk your hair and spray and black and red hair dye in it.
A couple weeks ago you started ice skating lessons as you have decided when you grow up you want to be a hockey player. The first lesson was especially hard and you must have fallen a hundred times. I wanted to help you so bad but I can't skate and I can't even try because of the twins. But you never gave up and I can honestly say I have never seen such determination in you. I was and am so proud of you.
You also love playing hockey on the XBOX with Dad every night. I can just hear laughing and screaming coming from the basement and it cracks me up. You usually beat Dad but once in a while you lose or tie and you are not so impressed when that happens. Then before each night is over, you beg me or Dad to pull out your hockey sticks and nerf ball and we play a little one on one. Tonight I played with you and SURPRISE beat me!
I never want to forget how much you LOVED hockey when you were 5.
My beautiful son, I love this time in our lives. You are the sunshine of my life and I enjoy every minute we are together. You are the happiest, funniest, most wonderful son any mother could ever ask for.
I love you,
Mama
